Following the success of our last partnership (award-winning hybrid doc, this world is not my own) Solani is once again teaming up with Opendox, bringing our unique blend of documentary and creative storytelling techniques (this time - virtual and 3D production!) to the incredible story of musician John Forté, best known as the producer of THE FUGEES.
In a 10 year span John went from the streets of Brownsville Brooklyn to famed Exeter Academy, from superstar producer to federal prison, from a commutation by George Bush led by Carly Simon. This powerful story goes beyond biography to celebrate creativity and weave a compelling story of the 90s–from the global rise of Hip Hop to the war on drugs and the prison industrial complex, to the power of music to heal. A wild story with global appeal, and a release date that coincides with the 30 Year Anniversary of the Fugees’ seminal album, The Score.
